Mission/Philosophy

Our Mission

We are committed to providing the highest dental care possible and to treating each and every one of our patients with the highest personal attention possible. Our goal for our patients is for you to be seen as an individual, to know you personally and not merely treat you as a chart number or "the next patient." Our philosophy of practice is to treat you as if you were our own family. We promise all our patients the same thing: exceptional comfort, a caring and attentive staff, an enthusiastic manner, and state-of-the-art dental treatment delivered in a relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly discuss and explain all treatment procedures. You will be completely informed and educated about your dental condition before anything is done. Our mission in this dental office is to make sure that you are satisfied with your services and your oral health well taken care of!
The following is a direct quote from Dr. Nelson Chen when he was designing his office from ground-up.
"I believe very strongly in providing dental care of the highest quality. This means creating a professional, empathetic, organized and safe environment for patients and staff alike, and having available the most advanced dental equipment on the market. While it may cost more to ensure that my patients have access to the highest levels of expertise and the most innovative products, there is simply no alternative. I am not satisfied with simply meeting my patients' dental health needs and expectations: I want to exceed them every day.

Fortunately, providing superior dental care does not require the cold, uncomfortable environment that one sees so often in bad movies and television programs. I plan to create an atmosphere that is, of course, conducive to professional service, but yet has a "day spa" feel. My Bellevue dental office will be a comfortable and soothing one in which the medical bustle is minimized and the clients can relax and feel pampered. The interior will be filled with warm colors, gentle music, and comfortable furnishings. During treatment, patients will be offered individual auditory and visual distractions, including a broad library of music and video selections.

Oral health begins with, and is sustained by, patient education and preventative therapy. Therefore, another one of my goals is to encourage my patients to become active participants in their own dental care. Intraoral imaging is an outstanding tool in this regard, having been shown to greatly enhance patient understanding and acceptance of treatment. So, too, does it facilitate an understanding of the need for conscientious brushing, flossing, and overall dental hygiene? Using this technique, along with a vigorous program of patient education, my team and I will assure that our patients have a complete understanding of their treatment plans.

Finally, I plan to create a professional environment that inspires each team member to the highest standards of excellence. I believe that the key in doing so is to support a high degree of professional development and personal satisfaction for every employee. Together, we will actively pursue ongoing dental education programs and hold regular meeting to discuss patient care and staff responsibilities. We will be prepared for all appointments ahead of time and we will operate in an efficient manner throughout each treatment. Each member of the staff will view him- or herself as being the patient's strongest advocate. Treating everyone with the utmost respect; we shall act in a prepared, knowledgeable and friendly manner that our patients will recognize and value."
